Canada
The Eastern Canada offshore sea scallop fishery is one of Canada’s most valuable fisheries. Fishermen harvest sea scallops from Georges Bank to the Eastern Scotian Shelf and St. Pierre, using New Bedford scallop dredge fishing gear.
Canada’s Atlantic sea scallop fisheries are managed by Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO).
USA
American commercial fishermen harvest Atlantic sea scallops from the US/Canada border down through the Mid Atlantic Bight.
The USA Atlantic sea scallop fishery is managed by the New England Fishery Management Council.
